Invest in Health

Medicaid covers 1 in every 2 kids in Illinois and 1 in every 4 Illinoisans, including the disabled and people with mental illnesses. Gov. Rauner is proposing to cut Medicaid spending by $1.5 billion. More than half of that proposed Medicaid cut is to hospitals -- nearly $810 million.

All Illinoisans will be paying the price for these Medicaid cuts. In order to continue the great progress being made to transform Medicaid and the health care delivery system, the state needs to Invest in Health. Here's why>


Illinois Hospitals Transforming Health Care

Cook County Health to Increase Access to Care for Uninsured Residents (9/14/16)
The Cook County Health & Hospitals System (CCHHS), with support from Cook County Board President Toni Preckwinkle and Commissioners Bridget Gainer, Jesus Garcia and Robert Steele, and the county-wide Healthy Communities Cook County (HC3) Coalition, intends to launch a coordinated health program for uninsured individuals who live in Cook County.
